Consultation

LirIC is committed to engaging openly with the communities, landowners and stakeholders who live and work near the project.

Phase 1 of the LirIC consultation closed on 24 July 2026. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the consultation events, visited the Virtual Consultation Room and provided feedback on the project proposals.

The feedback received during Phase 1 is an important part of the consultation process and will help inform the ongoing development of the project. The project team is currently reviewing all responses and considering how the proposals may be refined. Any amendments to the proposals will be presented as part of the next phase of consultation.

The second round of LirIC consultation (Phase 2) will provide communities, landowners and stakeholders with a further opportunity to review the updated project proposals and share their views.

Consultation events will be held in both Scotland and Northern Ireland in November 2026. The Scottish consultation event will take place at West Kilbride Village Hall on Tuesday 3 November, while the Northern Ireland consultation event will take place at Eden Community Centre on Thursday 5 November. Both events will run from 14:00 to 19:30.

The consultation events will provide an opportunity to meet members of the project team, find out more about the updated proposals, ask questions and provide feedback. Further information, including the updated proposals and details of how to respond to the consultation, will also be available through the Virtual Consultation Room.
