Consultation

LirIC is committed to engaging openly with the communities, landowners and stakeholders who live and work near the project.

Phase 1 of the LirIC consultation closed on 24 July 2026. We would like to thank everyone who participated in the consultation events, visited the Virtual Consultation Room and provided feedback on the project proposals.

The feedback received during Phase 1 is an important part of the consultation process and will help inform the ongoing development of the project. The project team is currently reviewing all responses and considering how the proposals may be refined. Any amendments to the proposals will be presented as part of the next phase of consultation.

Phase 2 of the consultation is expected to begin in October 2026. Consultation events will be held in both Northern Ireland and Scotland, in the same local areas as the Phase 1 events, providing communities, landowners and stakeholders with a further opportunity to review the updated proposals and share their views.
