LirIC Interconnector

The LirIC Interconnector is a proposed new HVDC subsea electricity link between the Belfast region in Northern Ireland and the Ayrshire region in Scotland. The project will provide up to 700 MW of additional capacity between the Irish Integrated Single Electricity Market (I-SEM) and the GB wholesale electricity market, supporting a more flexible, secure and low-carbon electricity system across the UK and Ireland
